SUN SAFETY AT BPEEC

The Queensland Gov't states that the UV Index is 3 or more everyday of the year here in the Sunshine State, so we need to take every precaution to protect our children and ourselves each day.

The Centre is equipped with a Sun Sensor which provides up-to-date information about the outside temperature, UV Level and wind gusts, which enables us to ensure that our children are not exposed to unsafe weather when outdoors.

An alarm activates in the Office when the temperature reaches 30 deg, and when the UV level reaches 5 (the highest level considered "moderate)". Staff then move children to play in the shade, or inside - however children may also be transitioned inside earlier if deemed necessary for whatever reason.
