COMMUNICATION

At Bayside Park Early Education Centre, we communicate with our families in a variety of ways:

Storypark is the method our families prefer most, as it can be used 24/7. Alternatively, detailed written messages are able to be left confidentially in the Fees Box at Reception, and can only be accessed by Management. You may like to use this method for the purpose of expressing concerns, positive feedback or evaluative input that you feel you would like Management to let Educators know about.

Although these messages can be anonymous if so desired, we really enjoy having open and honest relationships with our families, and encourage you to feel welcome to speak with us in confidence at any time.

Alternatively, you may prefer:

- Face-to-face verbal interactions (We’re a chatty bunch, so this is our preferred method!);

- Brief messages given to any Staff Member who will then record the message in the

specific Activity Room’s confidential Staff Communication Book;

- Email or phone call to the Centre;

- A request for the Centre to telephone you at a time convenient to both parties;

- A private message via our Facebook page;

- Confidential messages via Storypark.. (more info below)

Storypark is a web-based Program that allows you (and any other family/friends YOU authorise) to view the latest information about what's happening during your child's day with us. You are able to view Learning Stories, Activity Room events and Centre events, as well as exchanging private notes, messages and information with your child's Educators and/or Management at ANY time. You are also able to contribute information from home by creating your own Learning Stories to share with the Centre, and you have the option of turning your child's Storypark pictures into a printed Photo Book.

We also use Storypark to share information about events and special occasions happening with our families or our Staff, and to advise of Centre procedures in the event of situations such as extreme/hazardous weather, contagious illnesses and any other information that is important for families to be aware of.

Storypark also holds separate pages for our Centre Policies, a list of Resources that families are able to borrow from the Centre, and acts as an electronic "Newsletter" to keep you constantly up to date with everything happening within the Centre.

PARENT POCKETS

Each family is allocated a Parent Pocket which is located on the right-hand wall in the Foyer. (Pre Prep families have their Parent Pockets on the left-hand side) You may find messages from the Centre in your Parent Pocket, a copy of your Childcare Account if you choose not to have this emailed to you, Birthday Party invitations for your child from other families, and/or other important written communication.

We ask that you respect the privacy of all families at the Centre, and refrain from accessing any Parent Pocket other than the one that has been allocated to your child.

DOCUMENTATION

From time to time, it may be necessary to ask Parents to complete documentation in order for us to maintain or update our records. We may also ask for your input into decision-making within the Centre, especially in regards to Centre Policies, or ask for your evaluation of our service delivery.

ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATION

We also use email as a means to exchange communication with families, and we use email to issue Statements of Account for your childcare fees.

The Centre also has Facebook and Instagram pages that we use to share information about events and special occasions happening with our families or our Staff. You are welcome to Like us on Facebook or follow us on Instagram so that you can keep up to date with our activities.

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THE MAJORITY OF OUR COMMUNICATION IS VIA STORYPARK, AND YOU ARE ENCOURAGED TO READ EACH EMAIL OF NOTIFICATION TO ENSURE YOU ARE KEPT UP TO DATE AT ALL TIMES.
